Try My Thai Recipe At Camile!

One of my favourite thai restaurants, Camile Thai has asked me colloborate with them as guest chef and I’m delighted! I’ve developed a delicious tonkotsu chicken stir-fry with broccoli, mushrooms, spring onions, onions and peppers with oyster sauce, ginger and a hint of chili. There’s a vegetarian version too and so far the feedback has been very positive. It’s available for a limited time, so check out their locations countrywide here I was also interviewed by Irish Tatler magazine about the collaboration. You can read about it HERE

‘Fashion Relief’ Update

The countdown has officially started and I’ve been blown away by the support I’ve received from friends in the industry. So many well-known faces from the world of television, sport, entertainment and fashion volunteered their time to join me at the launch of FASHION RELIEF – Ireland’s biggest fashion fundraiser in aid of the hunger crisis overseas. I returned from a visit to East Africa last November and quickly realised that very little was being reported on the region’s hunger crisis. How can 20 million people facing starvation not be big news? I also thought about the amount of stuff…

FASHION RELIEF

Buy Tickets HERE Over the past eight years, my work with Irish and international charities has taken me to some of the world’s poorest countries. My most recent trip was to East Africa, where millions of people are facing extreme hunger. I’ve seen mothers who can’t feed their babies and small children who go to bed hungry, knowing there’ll still be nothing to eat when they get up in the morning. It’s absolutely heartbreaking – something that no man, woman or child should have to go through. Right now, people in East Africa and elsewhere are dying of hunger. But…

Tweed Dreams! The wonderful collection by Catriona Hanly

I’ve always enjoyed supporting Irish designers….we have incredible talent in this country….many of whom have gone international with success all over the globe.  One of the latest on the design scene in Ireland is Catriona Hanly who has already, in under three years,  got herself a very respectful following not only on home shores but  in the U.K. and parts of Europe.  I’ve know Catriona for over ten years now and like myself she is mildly obsessed when it comes to fashion. Also, like myself, she has been designing clothes for herself for years. I am delighted that she decided…

Women Mean Business in Tanzania thanks to World Vision

I have such great memories of the wonderful women and children I met on my recent trip to Tanzania  volunteering with @WorldVisionIre Thank you to @Independent.ie and The Sunday Independent for allowing me the opportunity to write about it in Life magazine and to David Conaghey for capturing it all on camera. You can read about the incredible women I met who are now running their own little micro businesses in the most rural part of Tanzania thanks to the training, skills and resources provided by World Vision. They are now able to feed and educate their children, something we…

Planet Woman

“It’s a culture change” said businessman and entrepreneur Mark Ryan (NON Exec Director Accenture) at Planet Woman, the event organised and hosted by business woman, entrepreneur, publisher, broadcaster and mother Norah Casey….and so say all of us! Norah, who has been a friend of mine for years, has many amazing qualities, but being a womans woman and still a guys best friend – in equal measure – is definitely one of her most endearing in my mind.  I know she enjoys the company of my husband and her male friends as much as she does her girlfriends, but being a…

St Patricks Day Celebrations VIP style!

There is no doubt about it, if it wasn’t for the St Patricks Day festival Committee and Marks and Spencer showing us such a good time every year and allowing us to do the St Patricks Day parade VIP style, my daughters would not be quite as patriotic!  Champagne breakfast (admittedly, that’s more about me!), escort to the GPO avoiding all crowds, seats under a sheltered canopy (yes, I did say SEATS! None of this shoved up against a barrier and standing in the cold for hours like in MY day as one of 7 children) And being seated beside…

London Fashion Week – Lovely!

It was my first time to do London fashion week as a guest/celebrity in the frow.  I was also commissioned to write up an article by two International publications – one US and one UK – so there was no major pressure. Any other time I’ve attended this fashion frenzy I’ve been in the media area, side or end of catwalk, pressed up against a red rope with the rest of the press, vying for interviews with designers, celebrity attendees and models. This time round with no major deadlines, tape time to fill or other demands I could just sit…

Keane On Style at Twin Trees Hotel, Ballina

Thanks to all of you who made Keane On Style’s first visit to Ballina such a success.  You were a fabulous crowd of women AND girls (great to see so many mums with daughters). You obviously enjoyed all of of experts talks and demonstrations because the whole night ran over by nearly an hour – you Ballina women can certainly talk, lol! – but that is what the night is all about; opening up, being honest, chatting, asking questions, learning tips & tricks that’ll make our lives easier and of course some fab fashion, retail therapy in our pop-up shops…
