Myself and Oxfam Ireland are bringing FASHION RELIEF back to Galway and Dublin in 2020 – and this year, Fashion Relief is bigger and better than ever! You can bag a bargain from your favourite brand, boutique, designer or celeb and the best bit is you’ll be raising vital funds for communities impacted by war and climate change. We’ll be in Galway’s Galmont Hotel on Sunday 1st March and in Dublin’s RDS on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March. Tickets from only €6 available here
Ok, I admit it, I’m a creature of habit. Killarney is my repeat stay-cation destination and when we travel abroad for a family holiday it’s always to the same spot in the south of France. So when Peter and I realised that our girls were fast-approaching the age when they might be too old to appreciate the magic of Disney, or more importantly the company of their parents on holiday, we decided to go for the family holiday of a lifetime to Florida. We kept the trip as a surprise until the last minute (leaving for Dublin airport). Their reaction…
Thank you to all the wonderful models giving up their time to join us for Fashion Relief. They will be taking part in two fashion shows on Sunday 10th March as part of the event. I’d like to thank Cathy Costello, Joanne Northey, Aoife Ruttledge, Olivia Flanagan, Tara McGongale from 1st Option Model Agency and Sarah Morrissey and Sarah McGovern from Assets Model Agency and Yomiko Chen from AR Model Agency.
A short clip (below) about my last visit to Ethiopia to see for myself how the money we raise through Fashion Relief is being spent. You can buy tickets to Fashion Relief here
Once again I’m teaming up with Oxfam Ireland for FASHION RELIEF. In May we raised an incredible €60,000 for those suffering from extreme hunger at our 2018 event in the RDS, where the public bagged bargains from the wardrobes of their favourite celebs, designers and boutiques. The good news is that that we’re doing it again in 2019 – and we’re taking the show on the road, with events in Cork, Dublin and Galway! The dates for Fashion Relief 2019: Sunday 17th Feb 2019 | City Hall Cork Sunday 10th March 2019 | RDS Dublin 5th, 6th, 7th April 2019 |…
I recently did an interview with RSVP magazine about the upcoming Fashion Reflief shows. They posted a ‘behind the scenes’ video on their site – have a look HERE
The countdown has officially started and I’ve been blown away by the support I’ve received from friends in the industry. So many well-known faces from the world of television, sport, entertainment and fashion volunteered their time to join me at the launch of FASHION RELIEF – Ireland’s biggest fashion fundraiser in aid of the hunger crisis overseas. I returned from a visit to East Africa last November and quickly realised that very little was being reported on the region’s hunger crisis. How can 20 million people facing starvation not be big news? I also thought about the amount of stuff…
I’ve always enjoyed supporting Irish designers….we have incredible talent in this country….many of whom have gone international with success all over the globe. One of the latest on the design scene in Ireland is Catriona Hanly who has already, in under three years, got herself a very respectful following not only on home shores but in the U.K. and parts of Europe. I’ve know Catriona for over ten years now and like myself she is mildly obsessed when it comes to fashion. Also, like myself, she has been designing clothes for herself for years. I am delighted that she decided…
