A once in a lifetime opportunity for dedicated followers of fashion was witnessed on the Friday of the May bank holiday weekend, when the Lexus Irish Fashion Collective took place in the historic venue of Trinity College Dublin.   Renowned Irish fashion designers, including Philip Treacy, showcased their collections in aid of dementia care in Saint Joseph’s Shankill.

I was delighted to MC and the show was produced by the incredible Catherine Condell and featured Ireland’s leading models. The Dean Dublin sponsored the reception and guests received a selection of gifts including a dermalogica gift pack from Brown Cow Beauty Boutiques, a Purcell and Woodcock scented candle and a selection of Redken hair products, chocolates and magazines.

The raffle prizes were amazing, with every designer donating a piece to the prize draw, a €1000 voucher for Kildare Village, prizes from all the great eateries of Dublin and the highlight a Philip Treacy Hat!

My pal Deborah Veale organised the event as her dad Ken is a resident at Saint Joseph’s Shankill and she is championing their vision to become the first dementia village in Ireland.

It looks like it will be an annual event so if you were one of the many disappointed people who couldn’t get a ticket (there was a waiting list of hundreds for cancellations) my advice is to buy one as soon as they go on sale next time.
